Gita Nagari, Vrindaranyam University

Area : 72 acres

The master plan includes educational buildings for traditional vedic sciences, cultural education, wellness education with a vocational block including farming and rural arts was to be planned on a 75 acre land parcel - in an attempt to bring back and preserve the legacy of ancient India.

We worked closely with the Perkins Eastman and RSA Architects to develop the master plan, which revolved thematically around the life and stories of Lord Krishna, specifically the 12 vana’s where he spent his younger years. Each building block took cues from the mythical landscape, while meeting the functional needs of the building. Rain water harvesting and gray water recharging was proposed through the length of the plot, symbolic to the River Yamuna which became a shared public space.
